Essex council invests your pension in companies and financial products via the Local Government Pension Scheme. These decisions are made and overseen by the Pensions Committee and the Pensions Shared Service.

Did you know that Essex County council's pension fund invests an estimated £140 million in companies that are complicit or directly linked to Israel's assault on the Palestinian people?

We are a coalition of concerned individuals, community groups, trade unionists, and faith-based organisations across Essex, united by a shared commitment to justice and human rights. Together, we are calling on Essex County Council to divest its pension fund from companies complicit in the ongoing atrocities and human rights violations in Palestine.

Our campaign is rooted in the belief that public money should not be used to support or profit from violence, occupation, or oppression. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and demand ethical investment practices that reflect the values of transparency, accountability, peace and justice.

We are part of a growing global movement urging institutions to take a stand against injustice by withdrawing financial support from companies that enable or profit from the occupation of Palestinian land and the suffering of its people.
